Silverthorne is the place to be the first Friday of each month. First Fridays, launched in late 2017, celebrate a flourishing arts and culture scene with live music, meet-and-greets with artists, family-friendly activities, and tasty local food – in short, all the things that make Silverthorne so special. “The first Friday of every month is a reason to get together,” says Blair McGary, Silverthorne’s marketing and culture manager.
Head downtown to experience a new theme each month, including youth art in partnership with the local high school and demos by Colorado mural artists; a rail jam and live music at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center; an art festival; and a community block party.
Local businesses and organizations also open their doors to the community. A recent First Friday featured “booty shaking” at Studio B Dance, an artist reception at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, live music at Angry James Brewery and a late-night happy hour with live music at Italian eatery Sauce on the Blue.
It all adds up to one big party, celebrating what makes Silverthorne great. “We invite visitors to experience Silverthorne in a whole new way,” McGary says.
